How to play crossword?
Play a crossword by reading each clue and writing the answer in the matching numbered squares. Across answers run left to right, and Down answers run top to bottom. Letters you fill in one direction help with the words that cross them. Check your work against the answer key at the end.

The generator tries many orders for your words and keeps the most compact grid. Words that share no letters with the rest cannot be linked, so they are named above the preview and you can swap them out. Press New layout for a different grid. Ten to fifteen words give the tidiest result.
