Merry Christmas
7 words: star, tree, gift, bell, snow, elf, wreath
These Christmas word search printables come in two kinds: eight word-search bookmarks with a holiday picture to color, and ten full-page puzzles from easy to hard. The bookmarks use an 8 by 12 grid with seven words running across and down, so a child of six or seven can solve them between chapters. The hard pages hide eighteen words in every direction. Every puzzle has an answer key.

Do a word search by reading the word list and hunting for one word at a time in the grid. Look for the first letter, then check the letters around it in each direction the puzzle allows. Circle or shade the word when you find it and tick it off the list.
Each printable is a free PDF for US Letter (8.5 by 11 inches) or A4 (210 by 297 mm). Print one puzzle for the kids' table, or the whole set as a booklet for a long car ride. For a class party, give each table a different puzzle and swap after ten minutes.
The three easy puzzles use a 10 by 10 grid with eight words that run only across and down. Christmas Tree, Snow Day and Christmas Eve suit children from about age 6, when they can read short words. The word-search bookmarks are easy too, with seven words each and pictures to color.
The three hard puzzles use a 16 by 16 grid and hide eighteen words in every direction, backwards too. Christmas Words, Christmas Around the World and The Twelve Days of Christmas suit older kids and adults. The medium pages sit in between, with a 13 by 13 grid and diagonals for ages 8 to 11.
Every full-page PDF has the puzzle on page 1 and the answer key on page 2, with each word shaded where it hides. Print page 1 only if you want to keep the answers for yourself. The two bookmark sheets put their answer keys on pages 3 and 4 of the bookmark file.

Each puzzle comes as a US Letter PDF (8.5 by 11 inches) and an A4 PDF (210 by 297 mm). Print at 100% so the letters stay large.
The bookmark sheet holds four 2 by 7 inch strips, each with a small puzzle and its word list. Print it on cardstock, cut on the marks, and solve it a few words at a time while you read.
Cardstock of 65 lb cover, about 176 gsm, feeds through most home printers and makes sturdy bookmarks. Plain printer paper is fine for the full-page puzzles.
The free word search maker on this site turns up to 20 of your words into a puzzle with an answer key. Print it as a full page or as four bookmarks on one sheet.
The puzzles are free for personal and classroom use. Please share a link to this page instead of uploading the PDFs elsewhere.
